A new sentencing date has been set for an impaired driver who caused a crash that killed a 9-year-old Lafayette boy.
Cesar De La Rosa, 24, will be sentenced at 8:30 a.m. June 21 in Tippecanoe Superior Court 1.
The sentencing date was rescheduled from June 8 because a psychologist who examined De La Rosa was not available to testify on that date.
De La Rosa faces up to 14 years in prison based on an earlier plea agreement.
He pleaded guilty to driving with marijuana in his blood and possession of marijuana.
Jimmy DeBoy was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk July 12 on South Ninth Street when De La Rosa's car jumped the curb and ran over him.
De La Rosa also had consumed a small amount of alcohol and had other drugs in his system at the time of the crash, according to court documents.
