A woman who police believe was run over by her former husband remained in Methodist Hospital late Monday.

A helicopter flew Michelle A. Kerfoot, 37, of West Lafayette to the Indianapolis hospital on Friday after she was run over by a pickup truck in Montmorenci. Hospital officials said she was in stable condition Monday.

According to a police report, Kerfoot was riding Friday in a pickup truck driven by Robert L. Kerfoot, 48, of 1905 Stillwell St., when she fell out and was run over.

The incident occurred between 10 and 11 p.m. near the U.S. 52 and U.S. 231 in northwest Tippecanoe County.

Robert Kerfoot later drove Michelle Kerfoot 10 miles to his home in north Lafayette and called for help.

Police arrested Robert Kerfoot, suspecting him of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and causing serious bodily injury, failing to stop after an accident that resulted in serious bodily injury and invasion of privacy.
