This group formed in February 2000. We welcome all new and previous MADD members and other interested citizens. We feel that having an active MADD organization in the Greater Lafayette area (Tippecanoe County and surrounding counties) is critical to raising public awareness about this continuing, devastating problem. Regular meeting time is the second Tuesday evening of the month.

The next meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at the YWCA, 605 N. 6th St., Lafayette. Shana Kennedy and Stephanie Murphy will talk about what they see happening on our streets and highways. They will also demonstrate fatal vision goggles (don't eat much if you want to try these!), discuss field sobriety tests, and answer questions.

The June 13 meeting program is Jane Mantel, of Lake County MADD CAT. Jane is a victim's advocate. She'll talk with us about what it takes to get a MADD group up and moving.
